A deficiency of vitamin K1 may be induced by obstructive liver disease, obstructive icterus, malabsorption due to celiac disease. This test may be ordered in the assistance of treating blood clotting disorders, bone metabolism disorders, and hemorrhagic disorders of newborns.
Patient Preparation: Patient should fast for 12 hours preceding collection of specimen.
