T3 Uptake is used in the evaluation of thyroid function. It is also used in the diagnosis of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. It can be used as an indirect measure of thyroxine-binding proteins in plasma as well.
Patient Preparation: Discontinue any supplements containing Biotin for 72 hours prior to specimen collection.
