This test is used to determine if one has folate deficiency. This particular test would be used rather than a standard Folate, Serum due to the fact that RBC Folate levels remain fairly constant.

This test includes:

• RBC folate
• Hematocrit

Patient Preparation: Discontinue any supplements containing Biotin for 72 hours prior to specimen collection.
