This test is used to differentiate the diagnosis of thyroiditis and hypothyroidism. Thyroid antibodies develop when the immune system targets the thyroid gland. This can cause thyroiditis and can disrupt thyroid function.

Patient Preparation: Discontinue any supplements containing Biotin for 72 hours prior to specimen collection.
